FAQs
1- Who are the MSAs?
Microsoft Student Associates represent their local campus as technology enthusiasts and social media/marketing evangelists.

2- Who is eligible for MSA program?
Anyone who is actively enrolled as a student at an accredited educational institution that grants high-school or college/university (or equivalent) degrees (including home schools) is eligible to become an MSA.

3- What do the MSAs do? What are the roles and responsibilities of the MSA?
As Microsoft Student Associates, the candidates will:
1. Drive student outreach and learning initiatives by hosting activities like workshops, boot camps etc.
2. Be a catalyst in driving initiatives around social impact involving students from local campuses
3. Contribute in empowering the industry and academia ecosystem by constantly playing a role of an evangelist in the community

4- What do the MSAs get from Microsoft as part of this program?
The MSAs get the following benefits from this program -
 Opportunity to be a part of a vibrant student community of Microsoft Student Associates

5- What is the selection process for MSA?
The MSAs will be selected based on the Nomination by the MSP/Faculty of their institutes post which they will be selected based on the interview by the MSA India Team.

6- What is the difference between MSP and MSA?
Microsoft Student Partners are application builders/developers/programmers/coders while the Microsoft Student Associates are tech enthusiasts, student influencers using technology for social impact. The MSA program is open to students across all disciplines and not restricted to students enrolled in STEM (Science Technology Engineering Mathematics) courses.

7- Can MSPs apply for this program?
No.

8- Does the student/college need to pay any fee for this program?
No cost.

9- Does Microsoft pay the student who are part of this program?
No.

10- What is the tenure of this program?
The MSA can function for a period of one year.

11- Is this an internship at Microsoft?
No.

12- Does this program provides employment opportunities at Microsoft?
No.

13- Is this only for students of Computer Science/ Information Technology?
No. Any student with a bend towards technology and interested in evangelizing Microsoft technologies can be a part of this program.

14- Can MSAs participate in Imagine Cup?
Yes.

15- Does this nomination towards MSA Program makes our college eligible to become an MIC (Microsoft Innovation Centre) or Ed-Vantage Campus?
No.

16- How does the college benefits from this program?
All the students get an opportunity to learn new Microsoft technologies through Microsoft Experts.

17- As a faculty, do I get any benefits from this program?
Yes. The faculty gets the opportunity to be the Faculty Champ from the campus for any communication with Microsoft. The faculty will also get extended help from Microsoft in initiatives around curriculum development, faculty development programs and access to various workshops and conferences conducted by Microsoft and get connected to Microsoft Experts.

18- Can MSA apply for MSP program?
MSAs can apply for the MSP program in the next academic year. The MSAs cannot become MSP in the same academic year.

19- How many maximum number of students can an MSP/Faculty recommend?
As of now we have not kept a maximum limit to this. However once a candidate is nominated he/ she would require to go through the selection process and Microsoft will be evaluating their candidature.

20- Students of which courses are eligible for this program?
Students from all courses arts, commerce, science, engineering, MBA, etc. are eligible for this program.
